Medicare Part C

MEDICARE PART C OR "ADVANTAGE PLANS"

  • These plans are typically “all in one” plans-meaning they provide you with medical coverage and prescription drug coverage all rolled into one. In other words, they combine Medicare Part A, Part B, and Part D.
  • Most of these plans provide you with “extra” coverage that Medicare doesn’t cover, such as hearing, vision, dental, and more. These insurance companies offering these plans are contracted and approved by Medicare. You must have both Medicare Part A and Part B to join. By the way, you NEVER lose your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits by joining an Advantage plan. The costs of these plans vary in premium, deductibles, copays, and other cost-sharing costs. In most cases, you will need to use doctors and facilities in their plan’s network.
  • Most Medicare Advantage plans include drug coverage, so you don’t need to join a separate Medicare prescription drug plan. In most cases, you won’t be able to add a separate Medicare prescription drug plan.
